With 18 Group wins to his name, before he finally retired in 2022, Stradivarius is a firm favourite among racegoers.
Brett has studied Stradivarius at length, observing him at Ascot in particular. This painting portrays the superstar stayer in his element, fully extended, under Frankie Dettori’s expert charge.
The background Brett has chosen for this piece of equestrian art is one of loose brush strokes, bringing focus to the horse’s movement. Whilst this type of background represents a departure in terms of the work Brett offers as published horse art prints, each of his paintings begins with a background like this before being overpainted with a landscape.
This limited edition horse racing print is limited to just 100 copies and is hand signed and numbered by the artist, Brett Lohn. Brett also makes each print himself, in his Surrey studio. The image is also available as a cushion, bringing elegance to any interior!
Brett has produced a fascinating 2 minute time-lapse film, showing the production of the original Stradivarius oil painting. It's well worth viewing. You can see all of his time-lapse films on his time-lapse art page.
Brett is based in the South East of England and exports his art worldwide. As well as producing the original oil paintings and pencil drawings that form the core of his stunning portfolio, Brett also creates the limited edition prints and even frames them himself. He insists on using the highest quality materials, inks and archival processes available. Every piece for sale on this site has been produced by the artist himself.
