Painted in oil on canvas, this piece took Brett a full calendar year to produce, working 6 days a week.
‘Mediterranean Symphony’ is painted from a viewpoint on the beach at Fréjus, a port town on the Côte d'Azur, Southern France.
To the left of the painting, on the horizon, we see the nearby town of Saint-Raphaël. The sky above is carefree, with light clouds scudding in the breeze. To the right of the painting, the weather is less predictable. A heavy shower draws a curtain across the light on the horizon, bringing with it the promise of a storm
Notice that the footprints in the sand are not barefoot. Somebody has been walking in shoes and made heavy work of the journey. They’ve been focused on their destination and haven’t been aware of the beauty all around them. Very soon those footprints will be washed away. Was the trudge worth it?
This fine art limited edition Giclee print makes a striking statement on any wall and is equally at home in a modern or classical interior. It is lovingly produced both on 390gsm stretched canvas and 270gsm archival paper.
'Mediterranean Symphony' is also available as an extra large panoramic giclee print and forms part of Brett's interior decor pillow range, where part of it can be seen on a seascape cushion cover.
You can learn more about this painting in Brett's online art gallery. A fascinating time-lapse film has been made, showing the development of the painting. It is highly recommended viewing.
I ordered a canvas print of Mediterranean Symphony as a Christmas gift for my wife. We had previously seen a print in the local shopping centre so had already been able to appreciate Brett Lohn's skill and the fantastic level of detail in his paintings. I ordered a canvas version with a pewter frame. I'm pleased to say that the frame looks almost as great as the canvas - it was framed by the artist who obviously takes great care. When I ordered around a week before Christmas, I was concerned about whether it would arrive in time. However, it was personally delivered by Brett Lohn within 2 or 3 days. Couldn't be happier with the canvas, and the service received. Needless to say, my wife was delighted with the gift!
